- A person who enjoys learning details of a progamming language, software system or hardware technology.
- A person who enjoys solving programming problems, modifying & enhancing software or hardware.
- Capable of appreciating the aesthetics of a ‘good hack’
I deprecate the popular media meaning of hacker as “someone who tries to break into computer systems”.
